Parameter Settings

Introduction

There are a couple of parameters that you might want to configure with WebMeter.  To get to the dialog that allows this follow these steps:

  1. Visit the WebMeter icon in the system tray area of your computer.
  2. Right-click on the mouse to display the WebMeter popup menu.
  3. Select Configure > Parameters as shown opposite.
  4. This will result in display of the Parameters dialog box.

Parameters

WebMeter allows you to configure two parameters.
  • Client Connections Port:  This is the port on which WebMeter acts as a web proxy and listens for Internet traffic from your browser.  You will only need to change this if you are an expert.
  • Maximum Available Bandwidth: this tells WebMeter what bandwidth you have available to allow it to gauge how well your connection is performing.  You will need to change this if you upgrade your ISP connection bandwidth or missed this during installation.
The Parameters dialog box starts up and shows the current value for all parameters.  Edit these values according to your needs and click the "Ok" button.
